I exclusively use Linux for gaming and I would be extremely happy If Proton support was added to Rainbow Six Siege.
Here's to hoping it'll happen. It would be amazing to be able to play this game on Linux. There's not a lot of multiplayer titles available on Linux, so having R6 Siege as a playable game would be a real boon, and I 100% would buy this game on Steam.
As a person who uses linux exclusively for a year without dual boot, I would really appreciate if ubisoft enabled battleye runtime support for proton and made rainbow six siege playable on linux machines.
@ubi-viral Absolutely, I don't think you realize how many people have been wanting to play this game on Linux and that's on top of all the Steam Deck users that will want to play it. It's literally just an email to BattlEye, and it will gain you guys a ton of goodwill from the community, and the community rides HARD for those that show it love like that.
@gamethecupdog The game is pretty much exclusively multiplayer, there's not much of a game other than that, so I'd hold off.
I would love to be able to play this game again via Proton. Please send that email to Battleye to enable support, we are ready to play and buy battle passes again! lol
Have been looking into Siege for a while now, if Ubisoft will add proton anticheat support it'll tip the scale for me and i'll actually buy it and play
Also For Honor support pretty please? Was enjoying it on windows, kinda miss it on linux.
I would love to be playing R6 again, T-Hunt works flawlessly for me, I would relay appreciate to be able to play Multiplayer again.
@ubi-viral I'm on board for wanting Proton to be enabled. I want to play this on Linux. It would also be cool if Ubisoft would port Ubisoft connect to Linux like Steam has, but for now I'm okay with using Proton!
Add support please. The work you have to do is not even existent. (Apart from contacting BattleEye)
@kravvhopz
Hey there.
Thanks for taking the time to provide your feedback on this. I'll pass this on to the team for you.
@ubi-viral Yes please!, I installed Pop OS on my computer and absolutely love Linux. Please enable proton so I can play this game!! The developers don't have to do anything with the game, all they need to do is tell BattleEye to allow the game to run, it's a permissions issue, not a porting issue. Valve has done all the effort to make Windows games just work on Linux so developers don't have to spend money with R&D.
@ubi-viral +1 for linux support. Siege used to be my main game before I moved over to a full time linux machine.
Definitely would play this if it had proton support.
Not switching to Windows even if you hold a gun to my head.
PLEASE! With the coming release of the steam deck, you guys are missing out on supporting an entire ecosystem of gamers. More people = more money for you guys! Please please we want battle eye support for Linux!!
I‘ve played Rainbow Six Siege for the small time that it was available on Linux, some weeks ago, and it worked really good through Proton. I definitely would play the game regularly if it would get Proton-Support.
