@Ubi-Viral I daily drive linux on my laptop. It would be really nice to be able to play Siege on the go.
@ubi-viral I would love to see this as well, the Linux gaming scene needs more competitive shooters.
@ubi-viral So, I couldn't play this game after I switched to linux. Game already has vulkan support. Should already run flawless. Please support proton thank you good people.
The thing is, they don't need to implement anything, they just need to give BattlEye a call to enable it.
@ubi-viral i would love this!! ive wanted to play R6 seige for the longest time but have been unable to
Siege is literally the only reason why I still have Windows installed on a secondary SSD, if I could get rid of that, that'd be amazing.
Additionally, offline games like THunt already work beautifully, so there's hopefully not that much work involved to get online working aswell.
I'd be very thankful for that
Linux support would be awesome especially now that popular anticheats support it and steamdeck is a thing that people use
@ubi-viral R6 is one of the only things that make me boot into Windows, so it would be incredibly appreciated to have Proton support
@ubi-viral Rainbow Six was one of my most played games with about 2000 hours of playtime before I switched to Linux. It would be awesome to finally be able to play it again without relying on windows to not destroy my setup.
I play Siege a lot on console, and would love to play on PC also. But I do not have Windows on my machine, so it would require Proton support. Hope it happens!
Yes please! The post that I wrote in r/Rainbow6 sub-reddit asking devs to enable Proton support in Steam Deck (and by extension in Linux) got 1K+ upvotes and many comments asking for this support. So there is a lot of interest here. Please make it happen Ubi. Also 3 weeks ago, the game was playable in Linux with Proton for about 6 hours until it started kicking Linux users again. IDK if this was intentional or not.
@ubi-viral I only use GNU/Linux now, I'll never use Windows ever again in my entire life.
As a result, I have stopped buying Ubisoft games several years ago since there is no Linux support whatsoever.
If there is at least support through Proton / WINE, I might consider purchasing Ubisoft games again. Until then...
