Up'll start off by saying that this is mostly just my opinion as someone that loves ac odyssey and spent more time playing it and the dlc's for it than any other single player game since skyrim (over 200 hours so far). I love the new ac games but valhalla feels like a step backwards from odyssey and origins. There is not enough loot worth getting and having to spend so much time just trying to find a way into the buildings that loot chests are in is annoying to the point that it makes me want to stop playing all together. The loot depth and potential to mess around with builds in odyssey was so great but valhalla seems to dumb loot down to the point that making your load out just feels purely like a chore rather than something I look forward to. Missions in valhalla feel too linear and side missions feel relatively meaningless. The textures in valhalla on a standard ps4 are sometimes so bad that they look like they came from a ps2 game. Overall everything from the combat mechanics to animations to even the cutscenes just feel unsatisfying compared to odyssey and origins. Even how the character lights up after gaining a level is less satisfying. I expected this game to feel much more impactful given that it is about vikings, especially after how good odyssey was but it hasn't lived up to my expectations. The lack of naval combat was annoying and raiding with a bunch of NPC's on your crew always getting in the way felt like a poor substitute. I really just hope that whoever you had designing and programming odyssey is going to make the next assassins creed game. The scope of ac odyssey was truly awe inspiring and to dumb down the series so much feels like a stick in the eye after spending so much time and money in odyssey

When I first saw the ‘loadout’ switching feature in AC Odyssey, I didn’t really think much of it until I realized how practical it was. Granted, I personally only switched between two different loadout sets for everyday killing versus full-on battle scenarios. The game also complimented this feature with the switching between ability rollouts for the button map.

Why were these features not included in AC Valhalla? Having played enough of the game and snatching up many types of armor sets, I found myself actually missing the ‘loadout’ switching feature from Odyssey. I’ve found myself manually switching each armor set piece, and the weapons too, when I want to take my Eivor into different situations where I know a different set bonus has its advantages. Is this annoying? Yes... especially when I want to use a different bow when a situation suddenly changes.

I hope a future update implements this practical game feature that is sorely missed.
