    Hi,

The game doesn't stop crashing on me. I've tried all the memory allocation/Nvidia tweaks/ini config file tweaks and graphical settings that I could find online and nothing works. I have an asus strix 3090 with a 5950x CPU with 32gb RAM so the PC requirements are not the issue. Every other game (RDR2, AC Odyssey,Battflefield 5, Control etc) runs fine, only AC Valhalla crashes all the time. Sometimes in the menu, sometimes during gameplay, it's a crash fest, never seen anything like it.

Only AC - Valhalla is running - no afterburner, no nothing. Even disabled cloud saves and in game overlays. Nothing works - I've spent hours trying to fix your game.

I tried updating to the latest Nvidia drivers - the issue still persists. When trying to find a solution online I see a myriad of complaints about the same problem. What gives - is this how games are released these days? Did Cyberpunk start a new trend? It just feels this game never got QA'ed at all.

I need assistance with this Ubisoft - you can't advertise a finished product, take people's money and deliver it in this state. It's absolutely unplayable.

What can you do to help? Please advise.

Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

Hello everyone, thank you for posting about the crashing issues you have experienced.

I too experienced some crashes in the game after an update, but managed to fix this by lowering one of my graphic settings (I believe it was Clutter effects) in the games menu, I use an Asus Strix 3070. Later after another update, I was able to return this setting to its highest without crashes.

This is one of the steps I would recommend trying, as well as the following >

    - Verify the game's installation files, through the game launcher, to fix any corrupt or missing files that may be causing the crashes

    - Run the game as an administrator via the game's .exe file, right-click on the file, select Properties, select the Security tab, check to make sure the current PC user has Administrator privilege's for this file, as not running as Admin can sometimes cause several problems and can stop the game from being able to save > https://www.ubisoft.com/help?article=000060505

    - Update GPU drivers and Windows OS to latest version (Windows 10 update currently Update 21H1 - Windows 11 not currently supported)
(Updating Windows will also update any supporting software the game and launcher needs such as DirectX, Visual C++ x64 and .NET Framework 4.5)

    - Disable all background software in Task Manager and try a clean boot/restart of your PC, in case any software is interfering with the game -
    https://support.ubisoft.com/en-GB/Article/000063761

    - Make sure the game is whitelisted as not a threat in your anti-virus software, in case it prevents the game from launching or connecting online

    - Make a backup of the games config/settings file, then delete this file in case a recent change to the settings may be causing the game to crash (Changing the recommended graphics/video/monitor settings in the game, can sometimes prevent the game from launching)

    - Install the game to another HDD or SSD drive preferably, if available. Also try installing the game on a separate hard drive as your Windows OS (Make sure to back up any game save files onto your desktop first, just in case)

    - Temporarily use a hardware monitoring program with an onscreen overlay, to see if there is a sudden spike in your CPU or ram usage whilst playing, that causes the game to crash

    - Do a System File Check (SFC) for any corrupted system files and a CHKDSK for any corrupted hard drives -

    Hi
I had this problem. I turned off 'Automatically take a screenshot when an achievement is earned' and the game went back to working normally.

@ubi-milky Thanks that helped - I've set everything to the lowest settings and the crashes stopped finally. I'll bring them up bit by bit and one by one. It's a shame I have to do this with a high end PC though.

Thanks for confirming that for us and we're glad to hear you've managed to resolve this. We are actively working on mitigating and preventing these crashes as much as we possibly can so hopefully this will be a temporary workaround.

I am having this exact issue but I am using an AMD RX5700 XT.
No warnings no bug report window pops up, just crashes to desktop.
I am not even pushing the graphics that hard.

Hi @gbukgb apologies for the late response.

I'm also sorry to hear that Assassin's Creed Valhalla has been crashing for you too.

Can you confirm if you have gone through all of the troubleshooting steps mentioned by Ubi-Milky in the post above? If not could you please go through those then try again to see if that helps.

Trying to play AC Valhalla on a somewhat new pc I'm running with high specs, I see my gpu is at around 75c mostly but my game seems to crash roughly every 5-10 mins, Yes I have the latest graphics drivers and windows updates, I've verified my game files several times and nothing has fixed the issue yet,

    Hey there @itz_ark_angel_x!

I'm sorry to hear that your game is crashing about every 5-10 minutes. I've gone ahead and moved you over to this thread as someone else was having a similar issue and I'd like for you to try any of the steps @Ubi-Milky suggested that you haven't already completed on your own.

If those steps don't resolve the issue for you, can you update me and let me know:

    • if the crashes are happening in any specific spots or after specific actions
    • when they started
    • whether you're seeing any error messages when the crash happens

    Thank you in advance!

@ubi-ladyblue I've done a lot of the suggestions so far and nothing has worked for me yet, I'm not sure how to make a backup of the games settings/config files,

This may help a lot of people who are having issues with crashes, I found out yesterday all the game crashes were actually being caused by Onedrive backing up all files from all devices so If u played the game on an older pc or something it may have old files or something that's not able to be changed or edited, After rejecting access to backing documents, I verified the game files again and was then able to play for a while no problem,

The only Issue I'm having now is the game is freezing and goes black screen with some colours from the game visible and then force restarting with no error code or anything,

Edit: 2h later running game with no admin It froze and crashed to desktop again with no errors 😕

@itz_ark_angel_x Sorry to hear you are now experiencing freezing when trying to play Assassin's Creed Valhalla. I would recommend starting a ticket on our support website so we can get your system files to take a look into this.
