Just throwing this out there to see what you all think but the Optimization station requires way too much and you can hardly farm the Resources. Or am I missing something here? Whats your thoughts. any pointers on how I can get the resources faster and more of them. This is crazy.

I totally agree. Before I had all the optimization blueprints it was largely useless as I was SHD resource constrained and there are very limited ways to collect that. Now even with all the blueprints it’s blue resource constrained (titanium, electronics, carbon fibre). And the only real way to farm these resources is 3-5 at a time from boxes and bags lying around the open world. Sadly it’s just a mind-numbing boring collection task.

My advice… Forget about it. Its stupid really. Optimization is over-rated. You don’t need fully optimized gear.

But if you want to farm… do level 3 control points until you have the blueprints, then make a daily trip to the west mall (around the Solar Farm CP) to collect resources as that’s the highest density area to farm. Also when earning stars from seasonal events, spend them on optimization caches.

Should have seen it at launch

Things to make it easier:

• Acquire the Blue Prints
• Hit East Mall regularly [Solar Farm]
• Run DZ Landmarks
• Do the Summit Weekly, w/Directives
• Have Alts that share Watch Points
• Buy Optimization Caches during a GE

Remember, it's tuned for players with an SHD1000+, as it's a late End Game feature.

Aim to speed though things on Challenging w/Directives - it's most efficient for the mats unless you can speedrun Heroic close to Challenging times.

@virtual-chris Ya its insane. I have no problem collecting material for crafting and such. Carbon, titanium, etc is all easy to come buy. Its throughout the entire map But optimization is scarce! I want to be able to optimize more because the loot I get is trash. I farm for hours on legendary or Heroic and Nothing. I get stuff thats close to god rolled and I always think. Ok I will keep this and Max it all out later. Later never comes. LOL

There are people here that love it because it is already cheaper then it originally was.
I'm with you it's still too expensive for what you get.
60 alloy/weave, 40 recon, 14 SHD Calibration for 0,5%-1%
I just hate that we can't normally farm for SHD Calibration points.
Recon should be halved.
Weapon alloy & gear weave is too much.
It should be deleted or halved as well.
In my mind it should only be used for upgrading your current gear too the next level cap.
(Lvl 30 to level 40 (& 50 if they would do that) ).

Also hate it that legendary missions give only Black Tusk Tactical assessments.
Which I get (they are still BTSU enemy's)
But legendary enemy's should give points for every faction not just one.
Or
They should make it so that legendary bosses drop their own tactical assessments that count for every faction.

@dutchlmb4ever I just wish they would drop more. Like the quantity is way too low. Even when you spend your SHD Watch points. Crafting gives you like 5 i think

its a feature aimed at those who have done it and seen it all , its not meant to boost a new or low level player into god mode.

if you had played enough you wouldnt think that , this days when i need a piece i just look for it with the right attributes and then no matter the rolls i just optimize it and i dont even make a scratch in my resources , so in my point of view the optimization for what it is , its quite cheap actualy.

I think about it this way:

How long would it take to get a God Rolled piece I want? Is that longer or shorter than finding a good one and optimizing?

So far, it's always been faster to optimize [one day I'll have a gRoll drop while gathering optimats, one day!]. I wanted a gRoll Groupo Holster. I had spent 400 hours waiting for one to drop. It took me 20 hours to Optimize the one I had to perfect.

What they should do, imo, is just combine all the mats into just one or two. They should also award more in daily/weekly projects and cache. It's not that crazy though, when you look at the big picture and consider how the Devs talked about it fitting into the game.

You think it's bad, i'm farming parts to optimize Improvised Gear (6 items).....OMG.......the farm is real

I get your point but the moment you're lvl 40 you can start putting every 5th watch point on SHD Calibration.
So it's not entirely true that it's for lvl 1000 only.
It's a lot easier yes.
But if you dont know you can't farm them normally and spend your watch points on credits or materials. You are gonna hate yourself later lol.
I made a new account so I knew what to spend it on.
But because of that new account I also know how annoying it is if you can't normally farm for something you "need".
SHD Calibration is the D-tech of Div2 and you can't farm it like everything else in the game.
It's just annoying.

And God mode is a little too much.
I was Watch lvl 10 when I had a trash/decent skill build.
With 7-8% skill damages & almost no skill haste.
And I did the most damage in almost every legendary (if I didn't get kicked for being low lvl).

Funny side note:
Only a couple said GG Newby but most (that I also had seen with my older account) left without saying anything, which they did do if you were the same or higher lvl.
(You know, that moment when they see they don't have the highest damage in the mission and quickly leave. Lol)

what makes a lot of diference are the alt toons , i only have two alts that work as mules and the fourth is the hardcore guy, but even with only two alts i cant spend all the resources fast enough , im always full of SHD points to convert into whatever i need .

granted i play a bit more than the usual gamer but when you can turn a point into 3 , or 4 if i ditched the hardcore guy , it all becomes noticeably easier.

I mean it think it's mostly fine now because it's not going to replace farming for gear, is to take what you already had that was good and polish it off to being the best

@n3mb0t True, I made 3 lvl 30 characters on this new account, just couldn't bother to lvl them up yet.
but in my eyes that shouldn't be the (only) way to farm them (faster) to begin with. That's all.
There should be a normal way to farm SHD Calibration without the alt accounts.

Still rare like D-tech in Div1 but way more farm-able as how it is in Div2.
I'm talking about SHD Calibration points btw, not the Watch points itself. (Just in case)

Amounts currently required are fine for the intended purpose, even if I would prefer fewer currencies in the first place.

@dagrommit What is the intended purpose? To never really use the optimization station. I mean the Loot quality is so bad in this game. We kind of have to optimize if we want god rolled items. Im not saying we should not have to grind for the resources. I just think the current way of getting them and how much we get is pretty low. just my opinion on the matter. Not that anything is going to change. I do want to note that during the pts we told the devs the station required way too much. They disagreed as usual, They never listen to the community. Then they ended up patching it, However its still not up to par.

Do we want it to finish off 95% gear to 100%? Or are folks expecting to be able to take something from 80% to 100% quickly?

@latenitedelight I mean this late into the game. I just want to be able to farm the resources more easily . Not just Summit cashes and Projects. The game is all ready a grind with the loot. Just my thoughts on it. The game is at its end so why not allow us to optimize a bit more. Like I said. I doubt anything is going to change. Just wanted to know if I was missing where to get the Optimization resources.

Perhaps you won't, but I have a couple of maxed out builds. All it took was a piece with one max roll, recalibrate a second, and optimize a third. Buying optimization caches when global events are active also helped. Point being, I wasn't trying to optimize multiple attributes per piece.

In my case, a “good” piece (which might drop once a week) will have one attribute maxed, another I can recalibrate and a third that’s probably 75% on average. So I want to take an attribute from 80% to max as fast as possible.

As it stands, if I farm the Solar Farm area every day, which is tedious and boring as hell (so I don’t do it that often) I have enough resources to craft 5 SHD about every week. And maybe I get another few from watch levels, and another few from projects, so I can basically optimize one attribute by 1% per week. Season rewards can speed this up slightly. So it usually takes me about a month to optimize one item. That’s ridiculous. I’m bored with the build long before it’s optimized. LOL.

It’s really a terrible system. Best to just forget about it.

If you cared that much about optimizing, you could focus on ways to do it faster and get where you want it to be sooner - but like most of us, you don't, so you just play how you prefer and take free upgrades once in a while just for playing the game. Also, do the Weekly Project for more SHD points.

I'm not really seeing the issue. Sure, everyone would love full gRolls with just a few hours effort, but is that a realistic ask of a looter? Wasn't the case in Div1 either - it just feels worse here because there are more materials, and money [one if the Div1 costs for optimizing] was so easy to acquire [I think they should just have 2 materials here too].

The aim seemed to be ~10 hrs per 1st tier, and making you play a variety of content. You can do it faster with focused farming [and/or clearing harder content quicker] and Alts. It takes longer if you don't pay attention to it.

I'm kind of surprised a Ghost Recon'er got sucked into the max loot chase
