@aabreur I was also finally able to launch the game after the 200mb patch. Restarted the game to apply changed settings and now Ubisoft Connect is unable to connect to the internet and the game can't be played offline... This company is such a joke. Time to uninstall my Ubisoft games and Uplay all together.
@schluppine After the update it was supposed to work, now it's telling me i need to activate a key
had the same problem today. for me worked to activate 2 factor authentification
Another day, patches popping up, v11 has been rolled back, texts gone, no DLC... Ubisoft Fiesta!!
I restarted Ubisoft connect until a 2.9GB donwload started. It is APPARENTLY working as expected (for ubisoft+ subscribers at least)
I *finally* managed to start the game on September 3 after not having been able to start the game at all before.
The next day September 4 the game would not start again. But I managed to get it to start anyway.
What I did was to close down the UBI client completely , then I navigated to the store https://store.ubi.com and from there found Anno 1800 and a link saying play for free (PC) and then started client using that link.
When doing that I didn't actually see the client interface but game started just fine.
I do not know if that game started is by coincidence or if doing what I did actually helped !
Hey guys,
Sorry to hear that you encounter this.
I can confirm that we are currently investigating this for a permanent solution.
At this moment however I would recommend to restart Ubisoft Connect and verify your game files until you receive the 2GB update.
Many thanks for your patience
