I'm using Windows 11, vega 56, i510600, 16 gb ram. all my drivers are up to date. I tried installing the latest 64 bit c++ distributable and disabling tabletinputservice. I'll try running in windows 7 compatibility mode next. If anyone has any advice it would be appreciated.
Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

Good day to you, and thank you for contacting us about not being able to play Far Cry 3! Due to it being an older title, Windows 11 is not a supported operating system for the game. You can find the system requirements on our guide here. However, you should be able to run the game in compatibility mode. The compatibility mode site is detailed for Windows 10, but the steps should be similar for Windows 11.
@ubikobold It seems like the compatibility mode worked for an hour, which was better than before. Thank you for your quick reply!
No worries lordjakian, thank you for sharing the resolution that worked for you, running the game in compatibility mode. This should help any other players, who might experience the same issue.
Just to be clear, on some of our older games, we may not support Windows 11 builds, instead, we support Windows 10 and previous OS builds for older titles, but this is something we are currently testing out for the new OS and will share more information on what is compatible and what isn't, soon.
Dear Sirs from Ubisoft...I cannot understand why you keep selling this beautiful (however old games) if they are not well optimized and keep crashing over and over...
Worst... You dont really care - otherwise, things would be already solved!
I used to like your company... I used to buy a lot from you... But now I can see how bad you treat us. This problem in Far Cry 3 has a long time!!! It crashes and crashes... and then, you decided to offer it! Genius... I paid for it...
I am sure that you will always find something to say, like : " you must update your drives" ; "it does not run in Windows11"... all crap! Because when you sell the game, you do not post its limitations...
I am trully sad and disappointed with You Ubisoft. Dont You know that it was US (buyers users) that brought your company out of the blue?!? Now that money is entering... You do not care anymore!
Things change, Ubisoft... a lot of people are getting really sad, as I do, about your behaviour toward us! Far Cry 3 beeing on sale, and crashing like it does... only a company with a completely lack of respect toward us.
I am sorry but... it is an honest open heart frustrating thing here... Still cannot play Far Cry 3 without crashing... every 20 min... pufff it goes down
@typeo I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with Far Cry 3.
As my colleague mentioned in the post above the game is not officially supported to run with Windows 11 as the game was released back in 2012. We would recommend launching the game in compatibility mode, the system requirements are also in a link in the post above.
Can you please go through the PC troubleshooting steps in the support article here if you haven't already done so then try again. I would also recommend reinstalling the support software, to do this check the support article here.
However if the issue persists, could you please submit a support ticket and attach your system files, dxdiag and msinfo and our Customer Support team will investigate this further for you.

Hello @george-george21 thank you for getting in touch with us about the crash you have experienced.
Do these crashes happen when performing a certain action in the game, or at random?
Have you tried any of the troubleshooting posted in our previous replies to players to fix this, as they contain the most common fixes for crashing problems.
As well as using Windows Compatability mode, please try verifying your game files, in case these crashes are being caused by a missing or corrupted game file that may have been interrupted during installation. This guide should show you how to do this > https://www.ubisoft.com/help?article=000060529
EDIT: Locking post due to recent necro posts, please make a new thread should you encounter any crashing issues so we can help you with some fresh troubleshooting steps.
