So, after completing the Siege of Paris expansion, I noticed along the way that I picked up 120 new raw materials after sacking Pont de l‘Arche and Compendium. I now have 6000 supplies and 120 raw materials, but Ravensthorpe is fully upgraded. Anyone else bothered by this? Is Ubisoft planning to utilize these supplies and materials in the next River Raid adventure with Vagn?

Whatever the case, I had previously noted in a comment in this thread that the Irish trading goods could have been used to build up higher level upgrades at Ravensthorpe to unlock other bonuses besides the feast buff, but I didn’t really speculate about the regular supplies and raw materials. Since the River Raiding with Vagn perpetually resets, we should be able to continuously stock up on more supplies and raw materials so that building upgrades and renown can be continuously boosted at Ravensthorpe, and possibly Dublin and Melun (or Rouen, since it would later be the seat of Norman duchy). On top of that, why not have all raiding locations in Norway, England, Ireland, and Francia perpetually reset with more supplies and raw materials since enemies respawn anyway?

What are ‘supplies’ anyway? If not for perpetual upgrading, can’t those be sold for silver like the Irish trading goods? Please, Ubisoft, do something to utilize supplies and raw materials more frequently and effectively. Give this game more options for replayability.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

Because ubisoft wants us to grind endlessly so we don't play any other games then there's and so they can sell their overpriced resources in there helix store.

@karmachaositgp What are you talking about? You can’t ‘buy’ supplies and raw materials in the helix store. I’m not talking about iron ore and leather here. There is no ‘grinding’ once you reach maximum renown. I’m literally asking for more reasons to ‘grind’.

I wasn't talking about the river resources, Read carefully and don't jump to false conclusions.

@karmachaositgp but this thread is about something else. Don't be such a Negative Nancy, just read carefully.
Why would I need extra raw materials if I have built everything? Unless they plan on expanding... what exactly? The settlement? Or what else?

@bielik01 I always thought it was odd that we never got any options to upgrade the settlement buildings where Azar, Hildiran, and Pierre hang out. Eivor kindly arranged for these ‘persons’ to have settlement locations and yet...

You still can’t snag the Irish trading goods from Azar in Ravensthorpe; Hildiran seems only concerned with training Eivor in battle meditation, but not the Jomsvikings (which would be pretty cool); and Pierre is... totalement inutile. To be frank, those Franks are taking up space and not contributing to the collective good of the settlement... they only care about Francia. What is Pierre even doing back in Ravensthorpe anyway after finishing the expansion storyline? Doesn’t he have a kingdom to protect? Pfft.

@thenorfolkian I know what you mean; I wrote in another thread about being able to sell and buy all kinds of materials including raw materials / supplies / foreign supplies, because some players are affected by bugs and glitches and cannot get enough of them to fully upgrade Ravensthorpe, while others like you have too many of them idling in the Inventory unusable and un-spend-able.

This issue happened in Odyssey as well - all the materials collected cannot be sold; merchants only sell them. Strange gameplay design.

@imaginaryruins You just gave me a really sweet idea. Since we can ‘buy’ other players Jomsvikings for our crew, why not be able to put our unusable supplies, raw materials, and foreign supplies up for grabs in a ‘market’? The cost can be selected from a set list of what another player needs. Like... let’s say player X needs those raw materials, but is screwed by the glitch and can’t fully upgrade, but player X has been grinding for ore like crazy and player Z hasn’t done much grinding but would really like to upgrade some weapons... enter a fair market barter trade! This barter market could off-set surpluses and create a whole entire economy of participation that encourages active grinding for whatever resource... even opals. The amounts per trade could even be fixed, so there would be no chance for market inflation or deflation...

I know Ubisoft would never go for it, but it would be nice as a means of increasing community engagement and more active gaming.

I wanted to return to this topic to renew the same suggestion since I have finally gotten around to clearing out every single map-visible chest in Norway, England, Vinland, Ireland, France, and Isle of Skye. I now have a total of 13300 ‘Supplies’, 120 ‘Raw Materials’, and 105 ‘Fabric’, not to mention 710 ‘Trade Post Supplies’.

Please, Ubisoft... allow us players to sell extraneous inventory items for ‘Silver’ or, as previously mentioned above in my last post, create a ‘market’ where other players online can ‘buy’ our resources if we wish to ‘sell’ them.
