    My pc: Ryzen 3600, 3600Mhz RAM 2x8GB CL16, RX 580 4GB.

It doesn't matter what graphics settings I set game on - it stutters anyway. There are drops 0.1 and 1% lows even to 32fps! Freesync doesn't help with that, the game just stutters. It's not very common, and the stutters aren't long, but they are. This ruins the comfort of playing. Is the problem with my hardware? Mainly i'm monitoring 0.1% lows and 1% lows - here I almost always have 52 fps on average. But the average fps is 60...

Second problem is that The Crew starts with only 20% volume of my speakers and i must every time change it in windows volume mixer settings

Thanks for reaching out about this, @korzychxp - these framedrops and the volume issue are very unusual, and I'd certainly like to help.

Can you start with our troubleshooting guide for me? In particular from that guide, please make sure you've updated your graphics drivers and operating system, you've verified the game files, and you don't have any unnecessary background programs interfering with the game.

For the volume issues, please try starting up the game with admin rights, also described in the guide above.

Let me know if those steps resolve or improve either issue. If not, I'll have some further steps we can try 😎

    @ubi-thrupney
It's an issue with the game and windows 10 combined.
The game keeps trying to access microphone with no way of denying it access, or just straight telling it to not engage voip.
And even if you crew up with someone and then press "disable voice communication" it does nothing to remedy the issue, furthermore when entering a chase, the voice comm enables again.
So in result, once you load into a map the game force lowers its own volume to 20 percent in the windows sound mixer.

There was a solution where in control panel > sound > communications, you could set it to do nothing, so windows wouldn't reduce volume... Because again The Crew has voice communication always open (terrible design)
It worked for Windows 7, but doesn't work anymore on windows 10
And since the development on the game reached end of the line, i doubt the issue will ever be addressed.

@korzychxp Game was build for 30 fps, with combination of nvidia gameworks or whatever it's called... So it really doesn't like AMD cards.

Partial fixes i can find rn is either limiting the game to 30 fps, or playing in borderless window (which allegedly increases the performance stability)

Hi. I've tried admin rights for .exe files and it didn't work.

I've changed my GPU to 1060 GTX and stuttering is the same. I have dips to 38 fps even on lowest graphic settings and resolution.

If you put resolution and graphics settings to absolute minimum, you're making the game even more CPU bound than it already is.
Logically if the stutters still persist, means the game has trouble with the cpu in question.
You might want to contact ubisoft support for a faster and more in depth attempts at fixing the issue, other than buying a new cpu :D.

I have 5800x and so far haven't run into any stuttering issues.

Hello @korzychxp, thank you for getting back to us about your stuttering and frame drops.

To help try and resolve these issues and further to the troubleshooting you were asked to perform previously, can you please check the following:

    - Experiment with switching Vsync on and off in the game's settings

    - Try running the game in the Fullscreen, Windowed and Borderless modes to see if there is a noticeable improvement

    - Try both Vulkan mode and DirectX versions of the game, if you are given the option to install these modes when installing the game

    - Check your FPS settings for the game in Nvidia's control panel software or AMD's FreeSync software - you can override this setting per game if you add the .exe file to the programs list and cap/limit this to a more stable lower frame rate you can achieve on your system

    - Next, in the GPU programs listed above, check your 'Change Resolution' tab, check which monitor you have connected and change the refresh rate to a lower amount of Hz, then launch the game and look for any positive changes

    - Lower your graphic/video settings in-game so that you do not exceed your Vram limitations in the menu. Running your Vram at max can cause your system to use your normal Ram and which can cause stuttering and lead to crashes

    - Check how much ram you are using and the speed of your ram, in the Task Manager 'performance tab'. Having faster ram installed in your system may prevent stuttering issues. Does your ram speed show as correct? If not, you may need to change this in your Bios settings. Please see your motherboard manufacturers support guides for how to change your default ram profile in your bios

    - Check your CPU usage in Task Manager when the game is launched (using windowed mode) for any spikes in CPU usage when playing and any high CPU usage, which may cause issues with performance. You can also temporarily use a hardware monitoring program with an overlay, to view your CPU use this way too.

    - Check to see if you are using the dedicated GPU for the game and not the integrated GPU (especially if using a laptop) if you open Task Manager on the first screen some players will have GPU0 and GPU1 listed. In the process tab, you should be able to see what applications are using what GPU by default.

    - On PC, open Windows Control Panel, select Power Options, make sure you do not have 'power saver' enabled, next, check the power save 'advanced options' for your CPU for any restrictions

    - For older games, that may not have been tested with Windows and ran on an earlier Windows OS, try running the game in Windows Compatibility mode to emulate an older version of Windows -
    https://support.ubisoft.com/en-GB/Article/000063445/

    - Perform some connectivity troubleshooting, in case the issue is caused by your connection -
    1. Remove any other devices from your home network
    2. Use an Ethernet cable instead of a WIFI connection to the internet, if able
    3. Check your internet speed against the game's preferred upload/download speed here - https://www.speedtest.net/: (https://speedtest.net)

Let us know if your stuttering improves after trying each of the steps listed?

@s5yn3t Actually i have Ryzen 5600X. Nothing has changed instead of Ryzen 3600.

    CPU is very good.

Can you made a video (on youtube maybe) with msi afterburner monitoring 0.1 and 1% lows in the game for about 2 minutes? Average fps 60 is stable, but 0.1% and 1% lows not.

To help try and resolve these issues and further to the troubleshooting you were asked to perform previously, can you please check the following:

    Didn't help.

    Didn't help.

    - Try both Vulkan mode and DirectX versions of the game, if you are given the option to install these modes when installing the game

I don't know where is this option located.

Game takes about 2GB VRAM and i have more.

Does your ram speed show as correct? If not, you may need to change this in your Bios settings. RAM settings are correct. I tried XMP - 3000Mhz and my overclocked 3600 and even 3800Mhz settings. Nothing has changed. 9GB of ram from 16 is used ingame.

    - Check your CPU usage in Task Manager when the game is launched (using windowed mode) for any spikes in CPU usage when playing and any high CPU usage, which may cause issues with performance. You can also temporarily use a hardware monitoring program with an overlay, to view your CPU use this way too.

CPU usage is not high. Maybe 30%.

In the process tab, you should be able to see what applications are using what GPU by default.

I don't have integrated GPU on Ryzen 3600 and 5600X.

    - On PC, open Windows Control Panel, select Power Options, make sure you do not have 'power saver' enabled, next, check the power save 'advanced options' for your CPU for any restrictions

I have high performance power plan. 98% minimal cpu usage and 100% maximum.

Speed test is good. Ping is good in Poland. But in game menu my NAT speed is listed "medium/moderate". Don't know how to improve this. I can't really do nothing because my ISP have automated settings and it is ethernet. I have only one PC. I don't have firewall.

    Hey there.

Would you be able to provide us with a link to a video demonstrating this if possible please as opposed to a screenshot? Unfortunately for this kind of issues if possible we need to be able to see it running. Thanks.

@ubi-orion You can see 0.1 and 1% lows and other things on the graph. Average 60 fps is very stable, but lows are much more important for a sense of game smoothness.

@korzychxp Hey there, and my apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

From your responses to Ubi-Milky's list of troubleshooting steps, I understand you've not seen any improvement. The only bit that sticks out is your network settings - we'd always recommend having an open NAT connection for our games, as this allows traffic to flow unimpeded between your local machine and the server. You mentioned this isn't something you'd be able to change, but just in case you wanted to reach out to your ISP or network administrator, here's our connectivity guide which shows which ports should be forwarded for best performance.

Beyond that, our next steps in regards to improving performance is to use system files to check for any issues that we can see. We've got an article here showing how to generate an MsInfo and DxDiag file, which contain system information we can use to diagnose issues. Please generate those, and then get in touch at any of the links below, so our support agents can arrange for you to send those files across to us. Please include a link to this forum thread in your message to us, so our other agents can see what's already been done.

Please let me know if you'd like me to clarify these steps at all, or if you have any trouble getting in touch at the links above!

@korzychxp I've tried to run afterburn but the overlay failed to work for me, couldn't get the fps data to show up in-game. TBH i doubt they'll do anything about the game's performance, since again the game was designed for 30 fps and using 60 fps mode introduces jank.... for example those 1% lows just plummeting because of engine reasons.

On another note the game REALLY dislikes anything overclocked.
My friend had to constantly revert to stock clocks when playing the game, because it downgraded the game's performance and introduced a lot of stuttering (probably those % lows just dropping to shadow realm)
So... just to know, did you overclock your CPU/GPU by any chance?

    @s5yn3t I didn't overclock.

As for MSI Afterburner overlay you must set it properly in Riva Tuner Statistics. Choose On-Screen display support ON, Raster 3D + Frambuffer if Viewport is not working.

Are these 60 fps problems officialy related to bad port or this is only your prediction? Hope you set Afterburner because that will give us answer if problem is only in my PC or on many others.

sometimes you have to pick a different type of issue just to get the options to show up.
you can then write up your issue as you submit the ticket, as they read that more than whatever tab you've chosen.
