Hello. I’ve just finished pledging to Eurvicscire, and the last region left is Hamtunscire. After lighting the brazier, I went back to the alliance map and I cannot do anything related to the main quest line. I’ve read on different forums that I need to talk to Sigurd about pledging to hordafylke, but here’s where the problems begin. All he does is walk between the port and his room, and I have no option to talk to him. I tried switching genders, loading an older save, travelling between different regions, doing other quests etc but it is still not working. It’s a game breaking bug and I feel really frustrated thinking I invested around 90 hours in a game just to be unable to finish it completely. I was planning to get siege of Paris and the Ireland dlc after I finished the main game, but I cannot progress past that bug. I could really appreciate some help.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

    I have a question...

Have you reported to Hythem about Wincestre yet? If not, go talk to him and see if that triggers Sigurd and Randvi to talk to you.

I only ask because I continued the story recently and when I only had Hamtunscire left, I went to Hythem to check how many codex pages I needed to give him next and Eivor wound up reporting on Wincestre on his own. I don't recall the game prompting me to speak to Hythem though. I just went to him for the pages.

Anyway, after that, I was able to pledge to Hamtunscire and go to Norway with Sigurd.

Can you please confirm if you tried the steps provided by @MissM16, by any chance? If so, can you please verify your game files with this link? This will help you to eliminate any potentially corrupted files. If you're still experiencing this after trying the steps from above, can I kindly ask you to provide us with a short video of this occurring, so we can have a look?

Many thanks and if you have any additional questions, please let us know.

    Hello,

Repairing the game files seems to have done the trick. Thank you both for the replies. Apparently I had to pledge to Winchestre, but the area itself was not appearing on the map. I just randomly clicked around Hamtunshire until I got the pledge confirmation. That's weird, though. Anyway, I am able to progress now. Thank you!
