When fighting, I assume certain enemies, probably on horses, when they charge, my framerate drops considerably. Other times, my framerate is acceptably high. I have not experienced this before the Paris DLC. Video:
Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

So like the title says, whenever I encounter the new cavalry type enemies my fps tanks for a while. After the fights it returns back to normal. I play on PC via ubisoft connect. Other than that the game runs fine. And please do something about the constant crashing. It is getting very annoying.
Hello @sixpounder85,
Sorry to hear about your experience.
Can you please perform all of the troubleshooting steps listed in this article? This will help you to eliminate any potential software issues that can lead to these issues.
If you're still experiencing this issue after performing the steps from above, can you please provide us with your full PC specs against your graphics settings? Many thanks and if you have any additional questions, please let us know.
Hello there @akarnokd!
Thanks for taking the time to share your report with us, and for including a video of the issue. I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing low FPS in-game.
Just to confirm, does this drop only happen when battling enemies on horseback? Or have you noticed it when riding your own mount?
Additionally, does this issue only occur in Francia? Or have you noticed it happening whilst in other regions?
If you haven't already, could you please give these basic performance troubleshooting steps a try to see if this helps to improve your FPS? These steps help to tackle a number of common causes behind FPS drops and technical issues in-game.
Thanks!
@Ubi-Mark I've been experiencing this as well. My game normally runs relatively stable at 65-75fps. The moment I encounter one of the Heavy Cavalry units, my fps plummets to 25-30. It specifically happens when they're moving about in close range. The fps is stable whenever they're idle or not moving at all, no matter the distance. So whatever the reason for the fps drop it seems to be related to the horse and rider moving simultaneously.
I've noticed a huge frame rate drops while fighting with mounted enemies in Siege of Paris DLS.
Is not noticeable while fighting with only one, but when 2 horsman or 3 charging you at the same time - then frame drops apears.
As more enemies do this at the same time at the same time, the greater the problem became.
Cannot record video to proof of right now, but i will try in the future.
If anyone notice same problem - report here please.
Hello @olmergrey ! A video is always welcome and appreciated when it comes to technical issues such as these. Do you happen to notice if these frame drops appear to happen outside of the new area introduced in The Siege of Paris? I also highly recommend running through these basic PC troubleshooting steps to see if those frames steady out and stop dropping on you! Please let me know how it goes!
Hello there!
I apologise for the double post. I've merged together some similar threads about framerate dropping when in combat with cavalry enemies in Siege of Paris. I apologise if any ongoing discussion has been disrupted by this merge.
I've shared the reports that @akarnokd, @SixpoundeR85, @Carshald, @fed0s88 & @OlmerGrey with the development team so they can take a closer look at this issue. If we require any additional information from you all, we will reach out within this thread.
In the meantime, please keep an eye out within the News & Announcements forum for any future updates.
Thanks!
the same thing happens to me too. please Ubisoft fix this as soon as possible. I haven't seen this in the objectives of the next 1.3.1 patch.
Re: [Siege of Paris FPS drop when getting charged](/topic/102861/siege-of-paris-fps-drop-when-getting-charged)
This issue, which remains unfixed just like many other Siege of Paris issues, is still being encountered several "updates" later to the game. Exactly as the video in the previous post shows, I am experiencing the exact same frame drops when being charged by ANY amount of Heavy Cavalry units in Siege of Paris. Oh, and also the inability to "sprint" on horses is still present as well in the DLC. I have done every "fix" given for BOTH of these issues and nothing works. Please fix this jank game, it really is fun at times.
Hello @majormeowmix thanks for getting in touch with us!
I am sorry to hear you experienced FPS drops when playing the SIege of Paris and the cavalry units charge you. I'm also sorry to hear no troubleshooting you have tried has resolved this for you.
If you can, please keep all posts of the same issue, in the same thread, so we can update players in one place. I will merge these threads now for this reason.
What platform do you play on and what kind of FPS rate do you normally get, then how much does this drop in-game when the cavalry attack, please?
Do you also have a video you can share of this behaviour on the 1.4.0 build for our QA team to take a look at?
@sixpounder85
Can I chime in?
Do I start a new thread?
This same plague hits everyone. Not just some EVERYONE
I cant even aim a bow at more than 2 horseriders.. the game lags so far down it becomes unplayable.
Oh but wait its OUR fault.. we have programs running or outdated gpu drivers or vc redists... ugh
Same with no running.. sprinting in this DLC and only this dlc is BUGGED.. everything in this dlc is bugged to high heaven
BUT WAIT... lets NOT fix this as ubisoft... instead lets release MORE dlc and CHARGE more for it! YEAH!
Any sense to this madness.
PS I also get many many crashes, less since the overhaul of the game though. BUT all bugs still persist as NOTHING was fixed
PLEASE MEND your games ubi
anyone out there from ubi land care to reply to this without saying please read this article and follow steps that dont affect anything?
no ? didnt think so.. just keep trying to sell new dlc, before fixing the core game AND the dlc for it.. that makes Soooo many people TRUST the quality of the new dlc right? LOL
any input would be great.. as this France DLC is NOT PLAYABLE even at 1080 res. LOWEST all settings. so its the game, NOT... the users
@ubi-milky
make that the 1.4.2.0 patch
and please stop telling people its them or us or our machines.
Your game is broken. Everyone knows this
Out of all of them this is by far the worst one
FIX the dlc.. fix the core, BEFORE releasing new dlc. Honestly charging anyone for new dlc is sick when you havent fixed the other dlcs
nor made an end to the hidden tombs.
nor fixed ANY UI GUI or overworld bugs and issues
river raids arent playable, save before every raid or fear for you life in the game
some things can never be completed
and the no talking to npc bug still persists ENDING the game for anyone getting it. You MUST erase all data and start over 100%
PLEASE respond to this terrible dlc
dublin worked well.. why did you avoid france?
AND why do you people keep thinking this is a user issue
You as ubi sit there and play the dlc.. not on the 10,000$ machines.
YOU WILL see these issues RUIN the game.
Siege of paris is BROKEN
fix it.
It is February 2023 and I just encountered the same problem. 90 FPS anywhere else, Heavy Cavalry charging, now below 30 FPS. Makes reacting to them almost impossible.
Horse not running? Bug is also still there.
Quick Google search to this post now tells me that Ubisoft (or whoever manages this game) just doesnt give a damn about the customer, but frankly sells you more Helix Credits for their mess.
