The audio stopped working in the encampment as soon as the festival started, that meant the intro cutscenes were silent, dialog popped up onscreen but only for a fraction of a second so I couldn’t read it.

Consequently I have no idea what this festival is about. I left and came back to no change apart from the wolf thing was now on fire.

Oh, also Reda only has a single quest. 😕

    Please fix these bugs.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

    Hello there,

As Sigrblot has ended in-game, we will now be locking this thread.

If you encounter any further trouble with missing audio in-game, please don't hesitate to create a new thread so we can investigate further.

    Thanks! 😊

@pesto for Reda's quests, disable Level Scaling. Few people tested it already and it works.

@bielik01 I discovered that solution as well... what a bummer... so much for level scaling, eh? LOL.

For the flyting contest in the Sigrblot Festival, I went up to Ake and a lot of the audio and subtitles for the dialogue is not present. While this is clearly a bug/glitch with the festival, I thought it was pretty funny to see Eivor and Ake use body language and hand gestures in their flyting contest. Eivor is so smooth... Ake had no chance! Hahaha... but really, please fix this for the other players. I’m playing on my XBox Series X, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this happens on other platforms.

Thanks yes level scaling did allow the quest back, but the audio is still broken in the encampment and I still have zero idea what this festival is meant to be about. I guess something to do with the upcoming siege of Paris based on one npc interaction that the text showed up for? It’s really annoying that it doesn’t work as it means I’m missing out on story.

I’m sure you’re overwhelmed with the number of bug reports coming it, but is there any chance of an ETA on emergency fixes?

    I’d very much like to

    • Be able to go to the settlement and not have the audio broken as soon as I walk through the arch on the dock
    • Be able to pick up quests from Reda without having to change difficulty scaling
    • Experience the festival opening or any dialog with audio and subtitles (and know what is going on a new why I have ten new quests related to the festival)
    • Have enemies respawn at the Soham Hideout
    • Be able to go to Ireland without going to sleep
    • etc

I have to be honest. It’s feeling very close to the edge of being unplayable right now. Closer than I’ve ever experienced an AC game and I played Unity from launch. A light at the end of the tunnel would go a long way to making this current hiccup feel more bearable.

@pesto Don’t forget about the almost totally silent flyting with Ake, which I reported previously.

    Hey there,

Sorry to hear that you encountered this sound issue.

It is great to hear that you found a solution that helped you.

If you have any further trouble it would be great if you could share a link to a video with us so we can hear exactly what is happening.

    Many thanks,

@ubi-wheelyduck are you taking the mick? There’s no solution, audio is broken, the festival is broken, this game is utterly broken. I have no idea what the idea of this festival is nor what i”m meant to do for it hanks to there essentially being no cutscenes, no npc interaction, no dialog lines, the entire encampment is broken.

The Reda quest system itself is frankly a separate issue but also still broken too but that was the least of the issues, having a really annoying workaround for a bug that requires reloading multiple times is not a solution. I want to play the game using the scaling setting at nightmarish but now that becomes a pita.

I’m not going to post a video. This game is broken in a fundamental way. I cannot recommend it to friends, I cannot really enjoy it myself, right now the only thing I’m doing with it is loading in to do the Reda quests to keep my character up to date, I don’t want to spend more time in a game this broken. I’ve taken the time to respond and report bugs with as much detail as I can give and frankly this lack of bothering to read, then responding with canned replies to try and set bugs to “resolved” when they are not, this feels [censored] and contemptuous.

Reporting again because it’s not listed in the reported issues thread - the audio is completely broken in the festival site and whole encampment.

Going in to a menu even the audio is broken and acts like it’s trying to play too many samples simultaneously for the engine.

There is no fix for this, the game is broken. Only occasional audio comes up. Dialog text also only pops up for a fraction of a second before vanishing so you cannot read it.

This renders the festival impossible to comprehend, what is the point of it? What is going on? What am I meant to be doing with it? Was there meant to be some intro? Is there some order that things have to be done in for it? Is there any reward? This game is beyond broken, I’m upset because I paid for a season pass for content I’m basically not getting now.

Please report this properly to the developers, please fix this ASAP before the festival is over…

    Hey there,

I am sorry for the confusion and my misunderstanding.

The audio issue you are describing is not one we are aware of and for this reason I understand you already advised you wouldn't be attaching a video but it would be great if you are able to do so as we are more than happy to investigate this in detail.

With regards to Reda's quests would it be possible to share an image of what you see?

Once again apologies for the misunderstanding and I will be more than happy to help where I can 🙂

@ubi-mark no, I have no means of recording or uploading a video. Simply travel to the settlement and walk in the settlement, it’s pretty obvious all audio drops out once you step foot on land there.

    @pesto Hi!

Sorry to hear these issues are affecting the enjoyability of the game. These issues have been reported and are currently under investigation with our development team.

Your first point: 'go to the settlement and not have the audio broken', needs further reporting. If you would happen to have any video clips or further details on possible reproduction steps, they would be much appreciated.

Thank you for reaching out, but regrettably we are unable to share any information regarding patch schedules, and timeframes. Apologies for any disappointment caused by this.

@ubi-nacho I have no way of recording video of it unfortunately. However it is simply a case of walking into the settlement causes all the audio to glitch out and die, even in the menus the audio is glitched there.
