In the flight or flyt mission in the sigrblot festival (PS5 Version), the majority of the character dialogue didn’t play. I see the characters’ mouths moving, but can’t hear their lines, just the background noises and their movements and such. This included the Flyt lines themselves, so I could t hear what I was meant to rhyme/match rhythm with

So today this went so far as to actually cause a hard crash twice on “continue” using my previous to now manual save (save 12).

First time immediately on load, the load happened, Eivor walking in the duat then rather than opening the game world it just went to black screen then valhalla insta-quit.

Second time I got further, walked to Reda, but no voice lines, took my time checking first the store then was navigating to new quests and again Valhalla hard crashed.

Both times on Xbox series x, no warning, no dialog saying “Valhalla has crashed do you wish to report” just boom, back on the Home Screen and Valhalla was not seen as open, had to load all the way back in.

Feels like Valhalla is trying to load in and play too many instances of a sample simultaneously and maybe doing some bad addressing.

Next time I made anew save on load to preserve the old one for analysis and then rushed through and managed to get out of the encampment to complete the Reda quests. So the crash happens on the save just prior to the latest.

@pesto I have had all the same issues as you. I used a YouTube video to complete the Flyting as it was impossible with no text or sound. I also reported the crashing over a week ago but I still cannot see it on the known issues.

@NaaaZx - Having read your longer post on the previous page where you stated that you have been experiencing issues with missing / stuttering audio throughout the game, I would recommend that you post in our open megathread for such issues here as well. We also have a dedicated megathread for audio cutting out, stuttering or being delayed during cutscenes, which you can find here.

@TheNorfolkian - As @Ubi-TheBerry says, thank you for helping out and providing advice as to how @NaaaZx can provide a video! It is great to see members of the community supporting each other! 🙂

@pesto - I'm sorry to hear that these issues may now be causing your game to crash in addition to inconveniencing you in-game. Since these crashes, have you performed any troubleshooting, such as clearing your console's cache or reinstalling the game? Have you noticed any similar crashes in other games recently as well, or just Valhalla? You did mention that they only seemed to be occurring on one particular save game - can you reliably reproduce the crashes if loading that save game from your list, and continuing to play on it?

@Falconswift - Did you happen to capture any video footage showing your experience of the flyting with Ake not working correctly, as this would greatly help us in our investigation? Regarding the Known Issues list, this is managed by the Community Team and includes issues recognised by the developers that they are able to communicate regarding fixes for. It is not an exhaustive list, so even if your issue is not listed, please do not think that it isn't under investigation or known to the team. Thanks!

@ubi-woofer unfortunately I didn’t get any footage as I quickly completed it and I have not returned to Ravensthorpe since as it will just crash or lose sound.

@ubi-woofer I’d tried most of it. Today I tried reinstalling as well as the rest, interestingly only one thing did anything - going to:the blu-ray menu to clear the cache there actually caused it to clear up the audio in the game while I’m in the settlement. But it seems I have to do this every time I visit the settlement, every time I load in. It’s not a long term solution.

Also I just noticed that this forum censors the name [censored], which is silly as it’s just a persons name and also a really good sandwich place.

And it seems that isn’t even a proper fix… it just keeps on coming back.

This whole thing is incredibly annoying, there’s zero sign from Ubisoft that they’re going to fix this. Certainly they wont before the festival ends… I’m upset, frustrated and saddened that this is the state of things.

The game has become a buggy disaster-zone, the only reason I imagine this isn’t being discussed in gaming media is that it’s too old a topic to cover anymore, but I spent money on this for this experience.

Does Ubisoft not have any beta testers or quality assurance checking this stuff out on different platforms, actually playing the game rather than just being human unit tests?

    Hello there,

I would like to reach out to you all with an update from the development team. They have issued the following statement regarding the missing audio/dialogue during the Sigrblot Festival.

"We have investigated the issue with missing audio and subtitles but will not be able to deploy a comprehensive fix before the festival ends on August 19. Thanks for reaching out to us as we can better prevent this for the next festival!"

We understand that this may not be the update you were hoping for, and apologise for any disappointment that has been caused by this issue. The development team will be using the reports shared within this thread to help prevent these kinds of audio issues occuring in future festivals. Thank you for taking the time to share these with us.

We would encourage you to take the time to enjoy the festival, if you have not played through it already, before it ends on August 19, 2021.

Thank you for your understanding 🙂

Why is this marked as resolved? It’s not resolved. Yes the festival has ended and was a complete disaster and waste of actual real world money on that pass.

But also the audio still glitches, go near Reda, open the map as the annoying children are calling out and there’s a good chance the audio will after a few seconds glitch out. There’s a major problem with audio within the settlement, this will only happen again the next time there’s an event going on. It needs an actual fix.

    Hello there @pesto,

This thread has been marked as resolved as the development team confirmed they would be unable to fix the audio issues experienced during the Sigrblot Festival before the end of the event.

We do have ongoing Megathreads for other audio issues encountered in-game which are still under investigation. If you are encountering audio issues in-game, such as around Ravensthorpe, following the end of Sigrblot, then I encourage you to share your report within one of these Megathreads. You can view the full list in our Megathread list under "TECHNICAL ISSUES & QUERIES."

    Thank you 😊

    Hello there,

As Sigrblot has ended in-game, we will now be locking this thread.

If you encounter any further trouble with missing audio in-game, please don't hesitate to create a new thread so we can investigate further.

    Thanks! 😊
