Just updated on my XBox Series X. I did not expect to see the addition of level scaling in TU 1.3.0, but this is a long time coming since we had that feature in Odyssey. I’m excited to finally customize how challenging the game can be.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@thenorfolkian I don't know if it works in River Raids... I don't see there any difference with Nightmarish level on.

I am glad they added this. I just started a new game on nightmare and it is actually slightly challenging now...

@bielik01 It was active for the river raids from the beginning. That und the boss encounters were the only parts of the game with proper scaling.

I stopped playing Valhalla due to the lack of that feature. Have continued it now. Finally!

    It’s so much better now!

I just wish you could also increase patrol size, enemy aggression and number of enemies who will simultaneously attack you. Oh and also fix the bug where enemies who aren’t attacking back away from you infinitely.

Ideally hard mode to me is more enemies who are more aggressive and do more damage, but don't necessarily have bigger health bars. Bullet sponges aren’t as interesting or rewarding to fight, needing to be skilled and not button mash to win is rewarding though,

Also variation would be nice, as in some groups of enemies (or individuals) would be randomly higher level and some lower. To force you to scope out first and to make it feel fresh, sometimes you’re a god scything through your enemies, other times you might barely make it out alive by the sun of your teeth.

@pesto that's also what I wish. Harder mode means for me harder enemies and more XP.

@bielik01 I think it would be appropriate if you received the same XP for simply assassinating someone, but that you would get somewhat higher XP bonus for archery or indirect kills, and the highest XP bonus for straight up melee kills. I’ve noticed that the game usually gives less XP for killing someone as opposed to assassinating them. Maybe that should be the other way around, given the intense combat-centric style of the game.

@thenorfolkian what I meant is more more XP valuable enemies

@bielik01 Ah, I would agree with that as well. Like, it seems kind of ‘meh’ that there’s really only two types of enemies when it comes to XP payout... regular and special. I don’t think it makes sense that a Standard Bearer hands out the same XP as a Man at Arms or a Banneret... or even a Macbeth!

Maybe if it was an extra 10% bonus for highest difficulty, so 11 xp per kill instead of 10. I don’t think it should be too much because otherwise it’ll make the game too easy again through unlocking everything sooner.

I do agree that it’s really nice to have some small bonus for harder difficulty. It just shouldn’t unbalance the game and progress.

@garbo3 long time no see! You may notice some troubles with Reda's quests. If he's giving you only one, change your Level Scaling options.

@bielik01 Yeah,I took a break from valhalla, was annoyed with bugs and lost motivation aswell.
But am looking forward to Siege of Paris even more now that's level scaling.

Thank you so much for the heads up 😊
