Hello, I have discovered a potential logical bug in the Sharpshooter specialization.
As you may know, there are 6 classes of main weapons, and 6 specializations.
Firewall specializes in close quarters engagements and thus specializes in Shotgun, where his special weapon attachment branches from maxes the Shotgun talent.
Gunner specializes in making it rain bullets and thus specializes in Light Machine Guns, where his special weapon attachment branches from maxing the LMG talent.
Demolitionist -> Submachine Guns
Survivalist -> Assault Rifles
Technician -> Rifles
Sharpshooter specializes in longest range engagements and thus specializes in Marksman Rifles Rifles again?! What gives?!
Instead, the Digital Scope should be a branch of the Marksman Rifle class, not the Rifle class, as has been done in error.
This really upsets me, because it destroys build diversity for the Sharpshooter class. Do you understand the mistake? Happy to clarify further.

Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

I agree. I tried it on my rifle, but both zoom factors are too great, it's better suited to the DMR weapon. Note that you can still equip it to your DMR weapon though.
@father-jack Exactly my friend. Sure I can equip it to my DMR, but that means I cannot also specialize in the weapons I want.
Basically I build a DMR for long range, an SMG for short range, and a pistol for my Shield. I use all equally.
Now I can no longer specialize in one of the above, because I also have to spec into Rifles to unlock the scope. See the problem?
@celestias While I agree in theory, there is a simple workaround - while you do have to invest in the rifle branch at first, to unlock the Digital Scope, once you've done that you can then use the 'respec element' option to remove points from rifle and put them into something else, and you'll still be able to use the scope.

That isn't the case here. As soon as I respec the rifle buff, the Digital Scope locks out and cannot be equipped on any weapon. If you try to "trick" the system by first equipping the Digital Scope to a weapon, then respec those rifle points, the Digital Scope is removed from your weapon and replaced by its default.
@father-jack That's very odd, because I tested it yesterday before posting and it worked for me.
To be specific, I checked my sharpshooter assignments, found that rifle was already not selected, went to my inventory and equipped the White Death (which had a standard 12x scope on it), changed the scope to the Digital one, then tested it in the firing range and it all worked normally.
