Playing on Xbox Series X and I finally built the barracks at my new village in England and I noticed a glitch with Jomsviking recruitment.
Every, and I mean EVERY Jomsviking that shows up for recruitment has the exact same gamer tag, CachouMTL, associated to it. I have recruited recruited six Jomsvikings at this point across multiple days and all of them ended up in my barracks as available crewmates and then show what the correct gamer tag they belong too. This has zero effect on the next Jomsviking that shows up as the gamertag is again the same. I can also verify that this gamertag CachouMTL is not a player I am a friend with but some random player unconnected to me on Ubisoft or Xbox. This is EXTREMELY annoying as I am hoping to find my friends Jomsviking some day.
I know getting a Friends Jomsviking is random, and it SHOULDN'T be, but now I have no way to know if a friends Jonsviking has shown up unless I spend the silver to recruit them and see where they show up in my barracks. After all I assume the pre-generated names are not unique to us so my Jomsvikings name is probably out there 1000 times.
Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

Good morning all,
So I have tried to find an answer to this but can not find one. So every time I walk past a Jomsviking I have always interacted with them to see if it was my friends' Jomsviking. As of a couple of days ago (maybe a week or so ago), I noticed that it was a different Jomsviking but they had the same Ubisoft account name. (Photo's included, part of account name removed)
I have tried everything I can think of, currently playing on Xbox Series X.
Any help would be much appreciated.
@awwjwah2
the EXACT same thing is happening to me too. Same guy too. Bam him if he’s hacking it all.
The same thing is occurring on my friends account as well. Same exact player name.
Adding to this list as I am having the same problem. Xbox one S. This is a bigger problem than a "few people" Ubisoft. I cannot see my friends to make correct choices.
Greetings, and I am very sorry for the late response. The Game team was also able to reproduce this issue and has been working towards a fix for a future update. Please keep an eye out for further updates regarding this, and thank you all for your continued patience!
@ubikobold I have this now. Surely you could release a quick small patch to fix this like other companies do. .
Every time i go to a Jomsviking you can recruit. I always see the same name ‘CachouMTL’s Jomsviking’. But when i hire him it turns in to the name of the one its really from. This is really annoying cause its already hard to vind your friends Jomsviking. But this makes it even harder ! I have to look at the Jomsviking and check if he looks likes my friends than hire him and find out it is someone else’s. Please fix this for me !
Adding to this thread as well. I have the PC version and I’m seeing the same gamer tag on every single jomsviking at every port where they can be recruited and at my settlement. The gamer tag all say “CachouMTL”. Very annoying..
Hey all! I'm sorry to hear the issue persists. We're still looking into the cause of this issue, however we're curious of a few things. We've seen reports that once recruited, the names of these Jomsviking's origins update to the actual player who uses them, as in this is mostly a visual error. I'd like to know if that's consistent to today? A few players have reported restarting the game, or waiting some time whilst checking before/after recruitment may resolve the issue.
UPDATE: I think I accidentally found a workaround.
Xbox: Clear your saved game cache, restart your console. Launch the game again
PC: “Unselect” your assigned Jomsvikings so it’s back to default raiding crew selection. If you have to, select your default raiding crew for each block. Manual Save game, quit to desktop, restart PC. Launch game again.
This fix (at least for me and my friend) cleared up the gamer tag issue on the jomsvikings.

When saying "saved game cache", do you mean delete local saved games? That's the only thing I could think of...

Yes, delete local saved games.
Then restart the console.
This seemed to have fixed it. If you don’t feel comfortable doing that, first try un-assigning your community jomsvikings and re-assign the default raiding crew in the blocks. Save your game, exit out of it, restart, relaunch the game. See if the community jomsviking gamer tag shows up correctly for you.
Since doing this method, I haven’t seen that other guy’s gamer tag show up anywhere.
@Lady_Phantom40 - Thank you for providing this workaround! We'll be sure to add this information to the report.
I'm still having this issue on PS5 and the workaround didn't fix it. They still have that stupid tag no matter what. Very frustrating. Would be great to see my friends jomsvikings.
Why can't you make it so we can find and recruit friends Jomsvikings easier. Everyone is asking for it. Isn't that a clue to add that ability?
@lady_phantom40 Thanks for the heads up. I will give this a try in a day or so as I also have a post opened today about losing hours of game time when I log in. (My character progress is reset backwards losing up to an hours worth of quest and collectible completion.). So I don't want to delete anything from the system until I find out if any of that info will be needed.
