So I have built the fisherman’s hut and the fishing option shows in the quick action wheel but it’s always unavailable. I also checked my inventory and the fishing line is not there - any ideas?

@ubi-mark I heard a lot of the posts with this issue. I too had done the fishing quest with Tarben before building the fishing hut. It appears a lot of people have done this and now can't use the fishing line after building the fishing hut. Maybe there is a bug that prevents using the fishing line after that quest if the fishing hut wasn't built. Just thought I would throw it out there. Thanks!

The current country the fishing line is available is In Vinland currently (Playstation 5), PS: The outfit for Eivor looks awesome.

Ya'll can't even use it? I guess i'll just count myself lucky that it doesn't want to let me throw it sometimes. Like there's a massive delay between when it actually lets me aim it from when I press the button.

I unlocked the fishing hut and the ability to fish, but I can't. It doesn't matter where I am (near or in the water of course), I cannot fish. I tried fast traveling, also to another country, tried restarting my game, I even hard reset my Xbox. It just always says "currently unavailable".
This also means that I cannot finish the fishing mystery in Oxenefordscire.

My game is saved to the cloud so that should not be a problem.

I'm having the same issue I'm power level 280+ my settlement is level 5 and I've never been able to fish says unavailable every time

I did not change any controls.
To be sure I changed some and set them to default again, to no avail.

@ubi-borealis Same issue here. I borrowed the fishing line from Tarben before building the fishing hut and it’s always unavailable for me now. When I try spending time fishing Tarben afterwards, Eivor can’t do anything except walk around. And I can’t leave the dock either so I have to force quit by loading from a previous save.

No developer but a suggestion:

Is it possible Eivor can place the fishing line on a hook / wall mount that removes the ability to fish, and able to take it back. When taking it back from the hook.. it re-adds the ability to fish again.

This also adds a bit of decoration to the settlement if done with fishing.

No clue if it fixes the ability completely to fish everywhere again..

Started playing the game a few days ago, I got the fishing hut built and didn't receive the fishing line (it's not in my inventory), when I try to use the quick action wheel it says that fishing is "not currently available" I got to Vinland and the fishing seems to work even though I can't receive the fish in my inventory, as I'm reading this thread it looks like I'm not the only one experiencing this problem, it's been 3 months since this tread and nothing happened, the bug is still in the game... can we please solve this issue? fishing is a big part of the game after all, not just a small bug...
