I'm 60 hours into the game and recently, I haven't been able to access the fishing line at all - it always says it's unavailable. But I have fished before in game way earlier and my bf playing on the same PlayStation can fish. Help?

I had not built the fishing hut before the festival started. I did so during the festival. The fishing line shows up on the action wheel now, but says "currently not accesible" regardless of where I am. Any thoughts and/or anyone else having this issue?

@Ubi-Keo To provide some further information. I have progressed to the point where I was able to travel to Vinland. To my surprise I WAS able to cast my fishing line there. I couldn't catch any fish as it just gave me leather but I could actually select the fishing line and do the whole animation/action. Thought it might help the bug research.

I think that was the last time I was able to fish was with Tarben. I now don't have access to the fishing line at all which means I cannot get all the quests including Fishing Lesson. Please may I bring this to attention to either get a fix or allow the fishing lesson quest to allow arrows not just the line? I have 90 hours on this save and am heartbroken I cannot 100% it

PS5 1.3 restarted and reloaded. unable to ever use fishing line despite having fishing hut and finished tutorial. unable to complete that quest as it requires fishing. also tried suicide and changing gender and using bow. mutliple threads on it with no resolution to complete world event.

@kbl007 Have discovered I can fish in Vinland. Will be interesting to see if can now do in England Ireland.

Hey i cant fish and some Quest does need fishing so i cant get it done. Im Done in england ireland and norway. I miss the fishing line it says my town is 6/6. Any possible way get help with this?

On the playstation 5, having build the fishing hut after going fishing with tarben the baker during the sigrblot festival. Anywhere in the game, the icon to fish is greyed out and displays the words "Not currently available".

Can't fish anywhere in Valhalla with the fishing line. Needed to fish using bow and arrow to complete a mystery, though a mystery with a girl at a pond needing the fish line to complete to get her fishes?

PS: Most favourite game ever so far!

Hi, i can confirm this issue is happening on xbox series x as well, hut is built, fished with the baker guy, and since update just comes up “currently unavailable” this is on the dock or in a boat in ravensthorpe

Hi there, @princeromeo2012 ! Thanks for that information! I'm glad to hear you were at least able to complete that mystery with the bow and arrow. Just to confirm real quick, do you happen to use any custom buttons or settings?

Using the default settings. Have tried to un-equip all gear with no luck.

Didnt have a fishing line when going fishing with tarben and could use the borrowed fishing line fine.

At any fishing spot the fishing line is unavailable like in towns, at the docks.. and anywhere in game.

Having travelled to Ireland recently and no fishing line available there either.

On the PC I had started a game with the fishing line available but the only thing that was different was that I didn’t tried to get a relationship with Tarben and build the fishing hut earlier as soon as possible arriving at the new settlement.

I'm playing on ps5. I had a game save I had already finished the game with. I started another play through. I built the fishing hut and got the fishing line but it is always greyed out. I am not able to fish with it so I am unable to complete some word events. I am able to use it on my previous save file.

I'm having this issue as well. Not sure if this will help, but my first fishing experience was while romancing Tarben, which happened before I built the fishing hut. The fishing was buggy i.e. I could reel anything in, trying to move the fish did nothing, etc. Thinking there could be a correlation there. Something for the devs to consider, anyway.
