Hello, so since release, ambient music does not play at all most of the time when roaming.
Here in this video Music Frequency is set to High, and still the music starts playing after 6 minutes roaming the map. You can see how much map you can travel in 6 minutes.
I believe this must be a bug as ambient music should be playing after 30 seconds when set to high, not 6 minutes.

Hey Ruloxito_5, and thank you for contacting us regarding the music frequency not working properly. I appreciate this video as well! This is a known issue that the Game team is currently investigating. I've forwarded up your information to be included in this as they work towards a resolution. Thanks for your patience, and let me know if you have any more that you would like to add.

If anyone else sees this thread and is also missing music from their gameplay, please provide a video as well and if you play on PlayStation or Xbox please specify which console. For example, PlayStation 4 or Xbox Series X.

    @ubikobold This was on PC

@ubikobold And on last thing that may be in purpose. For common raids (the ones with the red icon on the map) the music is always the same one, but for the raids related to story quests it switches.

@ubikobold Same issue, PC, appearing on all ACs on this engine

@ubikobold this is absolutely an issue for me and plenty others. Given how much you can explore within this 6 minutes before triggering an event, there is some players who simply will barely hear any exploration music. It is there, and is incredible but if this is a design choice then it is simply bizarre

@ubikobold So here's the thing, I started playing Valhalla like 2 weeks ago and so far the game has been the best experience in my ps5 so far, like really, good lore, good gameplay, good music, as ironically as it may seem, but yeah, it's all there. Until yesterday... I'm a perfectionist with my games, I want the best graphics, best sound... So when something is odd with those components I immediately realize. This "no music bug" happened to me before, once or twice, mainly in assaults and raids, in which there was a sound of battle drums in the background and no music with it. How I dealt with that? Just got to my main screen and logged back in. Coincidental or not, all the times that it happened before was immediately after a cutscene. The actual bug occurred at the end of Licolnshire Arc spoiler As soon as the quest was concluded I did the same procedure as before, reloaded into the game. With that the HDR problem was fixed, but not the music one. No sound at all. Not in combat, not in exploration, not in stealth, not even in the synchronization points. I tried everything, so far as the PS5 management goes... Loaded different saves, including saves before the bug, changed the language, customized the sound settings, traveled to different locations, and finally, after none of the previous worked, I deleted and reinstalled the entire game. To my surprise, when I woke up today the game was still bugged. Ubisoft u gotta fix this, I played all assassin's creed games so far and I really like Valhalla. The game loses all it's immersion without music.

Hello again everybody, and thank you all for providing more information regarding missing music. I greatly appreciate all of your patience, and wanted to update you all on the progress of the investigation. The Game team no longer needs anymore save files, and this should be addressed in a future patch. Please keep an eye out for further updates regarding this, and if any of you have any more to add in the meantime, please let me know!

@ubikobold I really hope this is also gonna fix the frequency at which the music plays. The game should never go more than 2 minutes without ambient music as long as the music frequency is set to high. Such a shame how Jesper Kyd, Sarah Schachner and Einar Selvik created an amazing soundtrack but we can barely hear it.

Also the official soundtrack albums for the game have a bunch of shanties in Old Norse, how come these aren't in the game ?
    Examples:

We only have the English version of these.

And tracks like the one playing when we have to save Oswald (Hrafnsmal) should also be used during usual combat. It' such a good one, but again, it's barely used. I think I've only heard it during that one battle. Then never again.

Sorry for my delay, but thank you all for your updates and patience regarding missing music. While I do not have a date of when this should be resolved, please know that this should be addressed in a future update. I apologize for not having any more information at this time, but thank you again for all of your patience, as I do understand the time that some of you have been waiting. As more detail is provided, I will provide updates here as I can. Also, Nozgame, the shanties in Old Norse may be missing in relation to this missing music issue. Once the missing music issue is resolved, if you are still not hearing these shanties in-game, please let me know so that I may continue to update the Game team.

So just loaded new update... still no music. So i guess the problem didn't make it in this patch? Do we really need to wait 5-6 weeks for the next patch? Come on Ubisoft...

This has never happened to me before but after the 1.2.2 Title update, i can't hear music in missions.

Hey there Tzwaeni81 and xALTERRAx. While this issue was not addressed on the most recent patch, please keep an eye out for future patches for the game. I am sorry that I do not have further information to provide at this time, but your continued patience is greatly appreciated.

xALTERRAx, since this only started occurring after the 1.2.2 update have you tried verifying your game files to see if that may resolve it for you? It may be related to the issue on this thread, but just wanted to rule out some possible external causes.

Hey everyone, So I recently started Valhalla recently, about 2 weeks ago, when I came across this bug, i first noticed it during a bossfight, it was complete silence, the most akward boss fight ever, once I realized that the boss music was gone, i noticed all other music was missing too, but I may have found a solution, my solution was to hard reset my console (I also play on xbox one x), I believe this also clears the cache on the games too, so that might be the solution more specifically. I also found that the music bug happens far less frequently when i manually close the game, so on xbox seeing the options and selecting 'Quit'. I hope this helps some of you, and maybe even the devs trying to fix it.

@dj767_ also, just to clarify this isn't a permanent fix, but when you do notice the music missing tbis should work.

@dj767_ mh. okay... i am on PC... i did a fresh clean install of Windows 10 and AC Valhalla some months ago and the problem still exists. It seems like an "online" problem or the online saves get corrupted. So nice help for the Xbox Users.

Ubisoft finally need to fox this. At last with next patch.
