  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

Hello there @OctaneStorm! Welcome to the forums 🙂

I've moved your post into this thread instead, as this seems more appropriate for the issue you're encountering after completing "A Poor-Fellow Soldier."

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble fast travelling, even after visiting Aelfred's study and the battlefield where Ubba can be found. To help us to take a closer look at this, would you be able to send us a video which shows the following:

    • That you have completed "A Poor-Fellow Soldier." You can view this in your completed quest log.
    • That, after visiting Aelfred's Study, you are still unable to fast-travel anywhere except Ravensthorpe.

Can you let us know if you ever received the prompt to speak to Hytham after visiting the study as well?

We can then forward this report to the development team for further investigation.

    Thanks! 😊

@ubi-borealis Thankyou for replying so quick! Yes ive had Eivor saying "I should see hytham" and the first time that happened I fast travelled to Ravensthorpe and did the thing with him. after that still no fast travel. I went to do the Jotunheim to resume the Angrboda quest and did all of the Asgard and Jotunheim quests and I noticed I still couldnt fast travel while in those realms even after I completed them (trapping Fenrir etc). Now ive reloaded saves from the final battle at Hamtunscire and its like it transferred the bug cause I cant fast travel in those old saves either. Ive got 149 hours in and want to make alot more. Please fix this :(. I recieved the prompt of hytham the first time before visiting Aelfreds study and in the other savees i got them after and still nothing that fixes the fast travel. I dont have any trouble with saving my game tho.
Oh yes and I completed the main questline about 2 days ago.

Thanks for providing us with some more information, @OctaneStorm, and for letting us know that this issue persists even if you reload an earlier save from the final battle at Hamtunscire. This certainly sounds unusual.

Would you be able to send us a video which shows the following:

    • That you have completed "A Poor-Fellow Soldier." You can view this in your completed quest log.
    • That, after visiting Aelfred's Study, you are still unable to fast-travel anywhere except Ravensthorpe.

If possible, could you also include you reloading your earliest save file from before finding out who the Father is, and that you also cannot fast travel here either? This could be useful for the development team's investigation into the issue you're encountering.

We can then forward your report to the development team so they can take a closer look at what could be potentially causing this issue in-game.

    Thanks! 😊

@ubi-borealis yes I will make work of it!

Ive made 2 videos, one shows your first 2 questions and the other shows reloading my earlier save file finishing the battle of Hamtuncsire and still not being able to fast travel. Where do I send these videos to? Its says I dont have the "privileges" of sending that on here.

Thanks for taking the time to record videos for us, @OctaneStorm! I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble sharing them within this thread. Would you be able to upload the videos to a sharing platform (such as YouTube or Google Drive) and posting a shareable link within this thread? This will allow us to take a closer look at them 🙂

It looks like your videos require a code for us to take a closer look at them, @OctaneStorm. Would you be able to set them to public, and resend the links to us? This way, we'll be able to take a look at the videos you've capture.

    Thanks! 😊

That sounds strange, @OctaneStorm. I'm not sure why you links would be flagged as spam 🤔 I've checked your old links, and it looks like the videos are public for us to view now, though. Thanks for sending them again as YouTube links.

I didn't realise that all of your fast travel spots, besides Ravensthorpe, had completely disappeared from you map entirely! These videos are incredibly useful in helping us to understand the issue you're encountering here, so thank you for sending them.

I'm not aware of any way to manually disable or remove the fast travel locations from the map, so I don't think there's been an accidental tweak in the options menu. I've passed these videos along to the development team for a closer look.

Can you let me know if this issue only affects England and Asgard/Jotunheim, or if it also affects Norway and Vinland? This way, we can let the development team know if only certain maps or if all of them have been affected.

In other maps (Norway/Vinland/Asgard/Jotunheim), do you have any fast travel spots at all, like you have Ravensthorpe? Or is Ravensthorpe the only place you can fast travel to at all on any map?

    Thanks! 😊

    @Ubi-Borealis
That's great news! Assassins Creed is one of the best (in my opinion) game series ever made. So to hear this is just sick bro.
No worry! youtube is not seen as spam luckily.
To answer your question, I've been to different continents/Realms and nowhere are any fast travel points. It's almost like the game decided fast travel is not the way to go and threw them all out of the window. I cant play this game without it. Ravensthorpe is literally the only fast travel point in the whole AC Valhalla world/atlas. oh yes and Eivors ship I can fast travel to.
I hope it'll be very useful. You've been helpful as well thankyou.

I'm glad to hear you enjoy the Assassin's Creed franchise, @OctaneStorm 😄 It's one of my all time favourites as well!

Thanks for providing that additional information about the other maps as well. I've let the development team know that only Ravensthorpe is available for you to fast travel to. I'm not sure why, but I wonder if it has anything to do with it being a "home" location rather than a viewpoint or a dock. I'm pretty sure it's the only fast travel point in the base game with the longhouse icon, which may explain why it hasn't been affected. This might also explain why you can fast travel to the ship as well, as it has a unique icon 🤔

If we require any additional information from you, we will reach out within this thread. Please note that we are unable to speculate on how long the investigation into this issue may take. I would recommend keeping an eye out within the News & Announcements forums for future updates. You are also welcome to reach out to us at any time if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Thank you! 😊

Yes I'll keep an eye on this thread for sure. 👍

Thanks for listening and trying to improve the game for all players. If I run into any other problems I'll let you know

    You're welcome, @OctaneStorm!

Just to let you know, I've created a new thread from our discussion, since the issue you're encountering is slightly different to being unable to fast travel at the end of "The Poor Fellow-Solider" until the player visits Aelfred's Study. Creating a different thread will help us to keep track of this issue separately to the original thread you posted in.

    Thanks! 😊
