Technical Test Server - Third Update (Ajala)

Greetings everyone!

In our third public communication we focus on Update 5, that was just applied to the TTS.

We want to inform everyone about some of the changes that excite us and we hope you too.

Also, starting from this point, Updates will be named after Lore relevant topics.

Update 5 is called Ajala! Over time, you will learn who these names belong to.

Ajala - Highlights

This was one of our most important updates, as it contains many new entries that we want to evaluate together with the players.

> The biggest news is the addition of a new unit, the Scout!

The scout can be recruited in the guild hall, is great at exploring, with the ability to reveal distant lands, a combat poison, and a stealth mechanic.

Considering scouts are an early game unit, their combat prowess in combat is not on par with Soldiers.

The tactical capabilities of their reveal mechanics paired with stealth and poison make them a great addition to our game.

> The next big feature is the first global ability: Recall

Recall allows any selected group of units to teleport back to any owned building. This ability has a global cooldown regardless of the units using it.

This gives players opportunities to be more proactive with their units without the fear of losing everything for being out of position.

Helping a friend in a group situation, exploring a landmark away from their territory, or simply reinforcing static defenses under attack, Recall is sure to add a new dimension to strategies.

> Update 5 brings even more: Faction Unit Abilities!

We always wanted to add unique abilities to separate Faction units from each other, and from their regular soldier counterpart.

The Jorn berserkers got a combat jump, the Maru javelins got a hidden trap, and the Elari arbalists a magical arrow.

While we are still hard at work with their balancing, the availability of these abilities creates unique opportunities for each faction on the field.

> All of these new additions are nicely tied together by our new Unit Ability UI.

The panel can adapt to the game's needs, displaying the available abilities, configurable hotkeys for all possible commands and clear information of the available selected army.

Together with key usability improvements, like prioritizing army selection over engineers, adding individual buildings to control groups or jumping to copies of the same building with a key press, map and unit control have become smoother.

The Decoy

We've seen your response to the new Order units, so we wanted to share a bit more of changes that were aimed at community feedback.

The scarecrow as a building created confusion and some raised eyebrows, so we wanted to clarify better its functionality by giving it a better fitting name.

It is now called Decoy, to reflect its purpose. Here is a preview of its look!
