Introducing Juren: The New Wu Lin Hero

The spotlight then shifted to Juren, the first Wu Lin hero Since Zhanhu back in Year 3 Season 4. The team shared the creative inspiration behind this character and explained how Juren fits into the ongoing narrative, particularly the duality between General Zhi and Prince Yi. For the first time ever, a short story dedicated to a hero will be published on our website on the same day as the season launch: January 29.

Gameplay Deep Dive: Moves, Feats, and Customization

Fans were treated to an in-depth look at Juren’s gameplay, highlighting his unique chaotic playstyle. His moveset is one of the most varied in the game, as every action, including light attacks, heavy attacks, guard break, and even dodges, can be either tapped or held to create unpredictable and dynamic combat options. He also has a down stance that allows him to block in all directions, offering a low risk, low reward defensive option that reinforces his unorthodox identity. His feats further amplify his chaotic and treacherous nature: one allows him to sacrifice his own minions to regain health, while another grows stronger as more allies fall in battle. These mechanics embody the theme of betrayal that defines Juren’s role on the battlefield. We showcased his armor variations and animations as well, including emotes, signatures, and executions. This detailed preview gave players a clear idea of what to expect when Juren enters the battlefield.

Music Spotlight and Exclusive Vinyl Collection

We looked at how the music of year 9 was crafted with renowned composer Luc St-Pierre. The team unveiled a collector’s item: a vinyl box set featuring two records, exclusive concept art, a booklet with messages from the three composers and audio director, and two exclusive tracks from Year 10.
