HitRECord Highlights #2 – Visualize Your Visuals

Almost 6 months ago, we announced the BGE2 x HitRECord Community Collaboration project and since then your contributions have really blown us away, both in terms of quantity and quality!

We already introduced you to some of our favorite musical pieces in our first HitRECord Highlights article and now we’d like to shift the focus to some of the art and illustration projects that have caught our eye on HitRECord. The variety of amazing talents displayed in these artworks will certainly add to the richness of the Beyond Good and Evil 2 experience!

PROJECT: Sacred Murals

Shiva Painting

Shiva

Alex6LB originally created this stunning painting of Shiva that would look right at home on the towering gates and buildings of Ganesha City. LeFlow then remixed the image, adding in a waterfall to fill out the final piece. This artwork is part of the Sacred Murals project which asks artists to design gigantic religious murals inspired by ancient Hindu traditions and stories that will cover the walls of Ganesha City.

PROJECT: Space Pirate Band Art

The Light Years

Light Years

This album cover art for a band called The Light Years was started by contributor, Unihorse. The final piece combines Unihorse’s original imagery, with an album name contributed by Tvc103. We love that the cover captures the Space Pirate Band’s aesthetics and their way of twisting the visuals of the established order – it’s edgy and yet still maintains a touch of innocence. This artwork is part of the Space Pirate Band Art project that asks artists to create space pirate band names, logos and album art for music that’s played on Radio Cheeta, System 3’s underground pirate radio station.

PROJECT: Anti-establishment Art

Put Those Screams to Action!

Put those screams to action

Artist Vitrashark is knocking it out of the park! With inspiration primarily from RudyMary’s “Angry Monkey” and Clara_L_Vegel_Grady’s “Fuck the System”, this hybrid monkey’s rage is certainly palpable. As an anti-establishment call-to-action, sometimes it just takes a good scream to burst into action and break those chains!

PROJECT: Hybrid Mythology

Freedom is at Hand

Freedom is at Hand

We love this piece first created by Paulkimkes and beautifully remixed by Anne_Rabaglia. Both mysterious and calming at the same time, the Moksha hand framing and freedom from oppressive chains fit perfectly with the essential qualities of Hybrid Mythology artwork. The Hybrid Mythology project asks artists to depict the imagery and legends of Moksha.

PROJECT: Anti-Hybrid Propaganda

Go Find a Hole

Go Find a Hole

Brutally direct and degrading, this sign perfectly captures the cruelty of System 3’s established order and its disdain for hybrids. Kicked off by BSHIPP’s “Go Find a Hole” concept, and adding in stencil icons created by AlexYunak, the piece is an inspiring example of collaborative work between different artists and remixes. We can easily imagine it displayed on the bathroom door of a Ganesha City establishment. This poster is part of the Anti-Hybrid Propaganda project creating artwork that promotes hybrid oppression and segregation. In BGE2, these pieces are used by the oppressive established order.
