Community Spotlight: Elongo06

Hey Elongo06, could you introduce yourself?

Hi and welcome everyone. I am Elongo and I'm from Dayton, Ohio USA. Dayton is famous for many inventions that include the airplane, car starter, cash register and a whole list of other cool inventions used worldwide.

I spend most of my time moderating Reddit and Discord. I also like to ride my bike in my spare time during the summer as well as hang out with family and friends. I started the Reddit page directly after The Crew announcement in 2013. We have been a growing community for 5 years!

After building the community, I was able to send Ubisoft an email about transmission options and to my surprise; I was able to chat with Creative Director Julian Gerighty (at that time) which was a flooring experience. He was very passionate as well as everyone at Ubisoft about the game. Not too far after, I was also picked to play the game early in France, which was an amazing experience.

That's awesome that you were a part of the studio visit. Do you have any fond memories from that experience?

You can actually play the videos from YouTube. I had a great time and met a few of the very dedicated players out there. I also was able to meet some amazing people on the dev team and they are very passionate about the game. It was a great experience seeing how games are made and all of the work that goes into it. I have a newfound respect for all of what they do at Ivory Tower. I have never left the continent before so going to France was a very neat experience. Seeing The Crew bring players from all over the world together is very neat.

You mentioned before that you are a biker. What's your dream bike? And why?

I'm a simple man and I have reachable goals. My dream bike for now would be the all-new 2019 Kawasaki Ninja 636 ZX6r ABS in Pearl Storm Gray and Metallic Spark Black. It is such an amazing bike with a smooth power delivery and it can scoot when it needs to. But it’s not too outlandish as far as power and speed. I bet you were expecting me to say I wanted a H2!

Before that is my current bike that I dreamed about. It is a 2015 Kawasaki Ninja 300 in Pearl Stardust White.

Have you been on any road trips? What is the longest trip that you have been on?

On my bike? Lets see here. No not really. I have ridden to Cincinnati on it for some group riding but my bike isn’t really made to be a touring bike. My record mileage in a day is about 135 miles.

That's a decent trip for not being on a touring bike. So, for The Crew 2, do you play on Console or PC?

I play The Crew 2 on Xbox One X.

What's your most memorable moment while playing The Crew 2? What car were you driving when it happened?

Seeing it live at E3 was my most memorable experience. Being able to see our playground so vibrant and full of different disciplines and vehicles was amazing.

Most memorable was me flying the Zivko Edge around NYC for the first time stunting around the buildings and soaring through the sky. Then flipping to a car in mid-air was also a neat touch.

I also had a lot of fun with the current new Hovercrafts. I like the BumblebeeX because it has handlebars and looks like a motorcycle lol.

As the owner of The Crew subreddit, what have you learned about The Crew Community?

The community pulls together and produces amazing photographs and videos. I love to see new content! I also see they are passionate about the game and give feedback to help the game along as well.

What has been one of the wildest experiences for The Crew subreddit community?

Wildest experience technically is the invite I randomly received to visit the studio! Growing past 5,000+ subscribers and seeing other players give stuff away is cool too.

To you, what does it mean to belong in The Crew Community?

It means a lot to me and I am happy to provide an area where players can share. It is a tight knit community and I love to try to help others when I can. I also like to relay good suggestions and feedback directly to the team. I am also amazed to get the support from the team that we get. Like I said before it is amazing that the world of players get together to play and chat. Its really fascinating to me and have never seen anything like it before. Also, in case you didn't know, the Discord has different language rooms so you can connect with others with ease.

Do you have any fun facts about yourself that you would like to share with the rest of the community?

I'm a current Pit Crew member. I was chosen to be a 2017 Ubisoft Star Player. I used to drive 18 wheelers.

The Crew community is quite large and spans across many different social media platforms, where are people most likely going to find you?

You are most likely to find me on Reddit for sure. I also moderate The Crew Discord on the side. I like the Reddit for all of the images, tips and videos. I like the Discord for those reasons as well as live chat with other like minded players.
