Continuum and Vitality take it all at the Rainbow Six Pro League Season 3 Finals

Last weekend, the ESL Arena in Katowice hosted the Rainbow Six Pro Season 3 Finals. In the PC division, Continuum placed first, while Team Vitality are the new champions of the Xbox One division!

PC

The first semifinal featured Continuum and GiFu. It was a hard fought victory for cTm as GiFu took Club House 5-2 in the first map. A Mute trick confused GiFu and gave a decisive victory on Oregon for Continuum (5-0) helped them get their things together and regain a positive mindset. It payed off on the last and final map, Hereford Base, where Continuum won 5-3, taking the series 2-1.

The game between Playing Ducks and Most Wanted was surely the closest in the history of Rainbow Six Pro League. It was opened up with a 6-4 victory for PD on Club House. Most Wanted made it 1-1 by taking Chalet 6-5. Kanal was there to decide who is going to the PC final. After more than 3 hours of Rainbow Six, Playing Ducks finally won 6-5 in a clutchy last round, 5v2, preventing Most Wanted from making it an all-NA PC final.

The next day, in the PC grand final, we saw Continuum taking on Playing Ducks. Once again, it was all about three tough battles. The game started pretty well for PD, who won Oregon 6-4. However, they felt short on the next two locations. Continuum took both Club House (5-3) and Bank (6-5) once again in an incredible final round, taking the Rainbow Six Pro League Season 3 championship title home to the States.

Xbox One

First team to secure a spot in the grand final was Supremacy. The number one seed from Europe took on the second seeded team from North America, Onslaught eSports. Even though Onslaught took Club House pretty convincingly, giving away just two points, the next two maps went according to Supremacy’s plan. Sy took Chalet 5-0 and Bank 5-2, to secure a 2-1 victory.

The battle between Team Vitality and eXcellence was the very first and only match to end up 2-0 and it was in favor of the European team. Four rounds was all eXcellence managed to earn in this series as Vitality won 5-2 on both Consulate and Club House.

For the first time in the history of Rainbow Six Pro League on Xbox One, we saw two European teams having a face-off in the grand final. A total of three maps were needed to decide who is the best in this division. Vitality took Border 5-2 and Supremacy answered with a 5-3 victory on Oregon. Finally and just like in the PC division, Bank was the deciding map. Vitality was the one who stand out triumphant once again on the last map and took the title over Supremacy in the end!
