Retalha’s Predictions

The Brazilian squads are coming fiercely. FaZe, after gohaN’s leave and the addition of Yoona, was given a new air and seems to be way more relaxed during the matches. The whole team, both individually and collectively, is having a great moment and has got it all to get to the Grand Finals.

As for Immortals, they suffered during the post-Six Major Paris, with an early defeat in the group stage, but they recovered in the middle of the second moment of Pro League. The question we wonder is if they had a negative outcome in the last rounds proving something happened inside the team.

FaZe has currently the best line-up to represent Brazil. As strong points over the last games, we could say they show stability during the matches, while having an aggressive approach which puts the enemy under pressure. They use drones very efficiently along the map, and the synergy is quite high among the players.

As their weak spot, though, the lack of a great challenge can be a problem during this phase. In spite of the experience of all the players, the team has always felt certain pressure in international events.

In my opinion, Immortals brings aggressiveness and a free and individual style among their players, which might surprise the opponent. Novys and Cyber are two highlights when it comes to kills. But there’s a negative side. Over the season, I’ve spotted a good deal of mistakes due to this individual playstyle. If the enemy manages to organize themselves, it’s possible to easily counteract this strategy.

FaZe will battle Mock-It, who has been showing great results in Europe, including a draw against G2. Korey and KS are having a brilliant second turn for the European team. Moreover, Korey is one of the players who has been performing the highest amount of Opening Kills inside the matches. I figure the score could be 2x1 for FaZe.

Immortals was left the hardest starting point, and the one nobody wanted to happen. Taking on G2, Invitational and Six Major champions and surely the greatest existing team in R6, is a big challenge, and G2 is very likely to get a 2x0 against the Brazilian squad. However, if Immortals is inspired enough and G2 feels the heat of Rio, we might even see a map or a victory in favor of IMT.

For Brazil to win the title, players need to overcome the pressure that comes from the world championships and be able to quickly read the opposing team’s game style, as that makes a huge difference in international tournaments. Emotional stability is a key thing as there’s nearly no room for mistakes and defeats, once the games are qualifying rounds in a best-of-three maps format. If you lose a match or a map, just hold on and keep going. We cannot forget communication, which is also key to win in R6.
