Following the release of The Rogue Prince of Persia in its final form this Summer on Consoles and PC, Ubisoft, Evil Empire and Laced Records return to save the kingdom once again, bringing the scintillating soundtrack for The Rogue Prince of Persia to Vinyl.
Like the game itself, the music of The Rogue Prince of Persia emphasizes agility and forward-motion reverberating with mystic power. Persian-American composer and producer ASADI dexterously blends traditional sounds with contemporary production techniques. Lithe melodies crafted using the Persian tar, setar, oud, saz and tanbur glide atop undulating, earth-shaking bass and snaking trap beats. Instruments duck and weave around each other in a carefully choreographed dance.
ASADI's compositions are bolstered by collaborators such as Xye for the vocals, and master players of Persian instruments. Percussionist Naghib Shanbehzadeh's rhythmic flourishes provide the perfect counterpoint to ASADI's electronic beats and Daf drums, while Shaho Andalibi's Persian Ney lines add a heavy dose of mystic energy. Keyboard virtuoso Brockett Parsons lends his talents to "Ashes of Knowledge" with rippling synthesizer lines. Striking vocal performances lend the soundtrack a distinct sense of mythos - from Alex Fitzpatrick's guttural throat singing in certain compositions to singer Xye's cinematic lyricism on the epic main theme "The Rogue Prince of Persia" and the electro ballad "God Under the Rubbles".
