Photo Mode Contest: Hope County Chronicles

Extra! Extra! Read all about it! There is a new Photo Mode Contest on the horizon – and we are looking for Far Cry photographers with an eye for a story! From August 20th to 27th, we will be looking for creative Photo Mode captures that fit best into our Hope County Chronicle. It seems our favourite good boy Boomer has saved the day, and we need a picture to go with the article on the incident! Set the scene however you wish using Far Cry 5’s recently added Photo Mode and give context to our breaking news stories! How to participate Qualified photos must be taken in Hope County i.e. the main campaign. Entry photos must be taken in Far Cry 5’s Photo Mode. Entry photos cannot be altered using 3rd-party tools including, but not limited to, photo editing software. You must post your entry either using the hashtag #FC5HopeCountyChronicle (on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram) or as a comment underneath the contest announcement post. All entries must comply with Ubisoft terms and conditions – the full list of which can be found here. Only one screenshot is allowed per entrant, so choose wisely. The news story we want you to illustrate with your picture is this one:     Boomer, Our Firedog Four children reported missing survived a local forest fire this weekend when a dog, named Boomer, assisted firemen in locating them. The children had gotten lost on their way home and been reported earlier that morning. The fire began around noon, and authorities are still unsure about the cause of the blaze. It is unclear where Boomer came from or who he belongs to. One thing is certain: Boomer has become a hero. Winners   The winners will be chosen by the Far Cry Community Team. Photos will be judged based on originality, style and relevance to the theme of the competition.   All winning entries will be rewarded with: 500 silver bars 1 Digital T-shirt for your in-game avatar 1 Far Cry 5 poster You can find the official rules, including information on eligible countries, here. How to use Photo Mode Getting the perfect shot is simple! When the time is right, access the Photo Mode from the menu after pausing the game. From there, you can adjust the position of the camera and make further changes to the captured moment such as time of day, field of view, image filter and many more. State of the Game: Update 1.8.3 Details & Release Date

Agents, incoming State of the Game transmission: During the last State of the Game, Community Developers Petter Mårtensson and Yannick Banchereau discussed the launch date of the sixth Shield and a revealed a couple of details on the upcoming Update 1.8.3. This week, Creative Director Terry Spier joins Community Developer Petter Mårtensson to discuss the launch date of Update 1.8.3 and a deep dive into the upcoming changes to the Striker’s Battlegear set.   Update 1.8.3 will release next week on Thursday, August 23rd. Its focus will be bug fixing as well as a rework of the Striker Battlegear’s classified set. The Striker changes and some of the fixes coming in 1.8.3 discussed during today’s stream are listed below. The full changelog will become available next week in conjunction with the patch release. Striker’s Battlegear EMP now pauses stack accumulation and bonus damage and healing are not applied. Existing stacks are lost with time and by missing shots. Classified Striker bonus heal rate is reduced and shots landed only add +1 stack to each bonus when playing in the Dark Zone, Last Stand, and Skirmish. Showstopper Fixed an issue where the Showstopper could fire extra rounds. Note that while the extra shot does not go off, the sound and controller rumble for that extra shot are still present in the game. The snap aim of the Showstopper has been adjusted. Support Station Master Mod When disabling a Support Station with the Master Mod the heal now scales depending on how long the skill has been active. Gameplay Fixed an issue that caused players to appear running in place when using a skill under certain circumstances.
